Black and Vanilla Fun Folds

I will be having a class featuring some fun fold cards later this month.  I started with using Basic Black and Very Vanilla with the Modern Medley DSP for the first card and then ended up making all the cards using that color palette with an accent of Strawberry Slush.

Here’s one of the cards in the class.  It’s a free standing pop up card.  This is a card that I made when I first became a demo with Stampin’ Up! using the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set (loved that set and was so sad when it was retired).  It seemed to take longer preparing it back then and now with the new tools that Stampin’ Up! has give us, it is so much easier with the Stampin’ Trimmer (#126889, $41.95) as I can cut and score the card just using one tool.

Black and Vanilla Pop Up Stand

For the centre piece, I modified the Triple Layer stamping technique to a Double Layer using a flower from the Flower Shop stamp set.  This set comes as a bundle that includes the co-ordinating Pansy Punch (#132727 WM $43.95 or #132726 CM $37.25).

Wishing You

Another card from the Snowflake Stamp a Stack.  I love this set with the parcels and sentiments.  A clean and simple card using the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Ribbon and coloring the image with markers and adding a couple of rhinestones.

Snow Day Tent

I had my Snowflake Stamp a Stack on Saturday and one of the cards we made was this tent card using the Snow Day stamp set.

Snowflake SAS - Snowy Day Tent

The base card was Island Indigo, with Whisper White and Winter Frost DSP layers.  The snowman was stamped with Pool Party.  The Stamp-a-ma-Jig was used for the arms, eyes, nose, mouth and buttons.  Sentiment was stamped with Island Indigo and cut free hand and adhered to the card.  The ribbon used is the 5/8″ Whisper White Organza and topped with a strip of Pool Party satin ribbon that is no longer available.

It was a great session as we enjoyed a candy bar, everyone went home with a prize and Amber won the gift basket with over $50 of Stampin’ Up! products.  And as usual, I didn’t get a chance to take many pictures but do have a couple that I hope to share with you in the next few days.

Thanks for stopping by on this foggy day and happy stamping!

Such a busy time of year as we prepare for Stamp a Stacks, Craft Fairs etc.  Have spent the weekend preparing for my Snowflake Stamp a Stack for next weekend and Jen has been busy getting ready for a craft fair.

This is one of the items she’ll have at the fair using the Dress Up Framelits and All Dressed Up stamp set.

Happy Thanksgiving

Celebrating Thanksgiving Day in Canada.

Magnificent Maple Thanksgiving

I love the Magnificent Maple single stamp and for this card, the baby wipe technique was used to stamp all the leaves.  Drop several drops of reinkers (Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Cajun Craze) on a baby wipe and then use that as your stamp pad as you pick up the various colors.

The card base is Crumb Cake on which is a layer of the Epic Day This and That DSP.  Cut out a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the Top Note die and then stamp the leaves around the edges of the die.  I also used the masking technique to stamp the leaves.

Calypso Coral Candy Dots were added for a bit of accent.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping, too!

Masking Tape Technique

It’s been a long time between posts as the fall is always such a busy time of year.  This is a card that I made a while ago using the masking tape technique.  It’s a quick and easy technique using painters’ tape and a variety of color.  For this card, I chose to use varying shades of green – Pear Pizza, Gumball Green and Pistachio Pudding with the card base in Gumball Green.  The white layer is glossy white, and while it has been discontinued, you can either use a good photo quality paper or Whisper White as the painters tape is a low tack tape and will not stick too much to the card stock.

Lovely as a Tree Masking Tape

Simply cut off a length of the tape and place over your inkpad and tap slightly to pick up the color of the ink pad.  Place the tape over your card stock and tap it to adhere the ink color to the card stock and then peel off slowly.  Repeat with the other colors you have chosen.  The tree is from Lovely as a Tree stamped with Stazon black in.

The sentiment is from Four You.  I trimmed the corners using the Envelope Punch Board.

Baby Baby

The baby card we made at our Three Men and a Baby class is a sweet little onsie with a co-ordinating envelope made with the super fantastic Envelope Punch Board.

Baby Onsie Blue

I had made one years ago and amazingly, still had it!  So I was able to trace the outline to cut out the card.  Since it was a little pink onsie, thought I would make this one for a baby boy.  Love the little lion from Zoo Babies.  The sentiment from Cuddles and Kisses was punched with the Artisan Label punch.  We punched a piece of Marina Mist and cut it in half to provide a frame around the white sentiment piece.
