When your life seems to be a bit unsettled, the best therapy is to sit down and stamp and that’s what I did this morning and after I finished the card, I truly felt 100% better and the card brought a smile to my lips.
I absolutely love Serene Silhouettes and even more so when I combined it with the Work of Art stamp set.
I started with a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock cut 4 1/4″ by 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. The second layer is a piece of Calypso Coral cut 5″ x 3 3/4″. To that I layered a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cut 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.
The focal image is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White large enough to cut out the Oval Framelit (#4 with the smallest being #1). I stamped the background using the Work of Art brush stamp. I inked it up with Crisp Cantaloupe and stamped off once before applying it to the Whisper White. This is repeated 3 times.
The image from Serene Silhouettes was inked with Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz markers and then stamped over the background.
This was this run through using the Oval Framelit #4.
After adhering the Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypyso layers together, add some Calypso Coral twine (retired) around the middle. You can substitute the Calypso Coral with the Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Bakers Twine (#135636). Place dimensionals on the oval piece and adhere to the front of the card and then complete the tying of the twine by adding a Vintage Faceted Designer Button. Place a glue dot on the button to make sure it stays in place.
Complete the card with pearls – one in the centre of the button and three tiny ones in the centre of the blossoms.
Now if only the temperatures would only moderate, I would be feeling 110% better (shouldn’t complain I know, but it’s just too much heat for me). My apologies to all you sun worshippers.
You can shop my online store HERE for the supplies to make today’s card.
Thanks for stopping today and happy stamping!
After making one of our Christmas in July cards using the Heat and Stick powder, I’m really loving it! Made this thank you card with one of my favourite stamp sets in the catalogue, Serene Silhouettes.
The card stock is Daffodil Delight and the first layer is Whisper White embossed with the new Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder (p. 22, Holiday Catalogue, #132174, $9.95).
The image from Serene Silhouettes is inked up with Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green markers. The blossoms were highlighted with dabs of Crushed Curry and Raspberry Ripple markers. After stamping the image, cover the whole image with Versamark ink and then apply the Heat and Sick powder. Heat with the heat tool until sticky and apply a generous covering of Dazzling Diamonds and heat to set.
The image was cut with the Oval Framelits and the Daffodil Delight mat was cut with the larger size of the Oval Framelits. This focal piece was popped up with dimensionals.
The thanks is from Fabulous Phrases stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch (love that punch!) and layered onto a 1″ Circle piece of Daffodil Delight.
This card is for Deb – thanks for all your help!

Thanks for stopping by today . . . . and after almost 6 weeks of sunshine, I’m doing the happy dance this morning for a much cooler day and for the next few days – happy stamping!
One of my favourite stamp sets done in my favourite color combination – black and white. Jen made this for the swaps at the recent regionals in Tacoma and I love all the detail she put into it.
Well, fall has arrived with a vengeance here in the Metro Vancouver area with buckets of rain coming down. Our typical fall weather. To think that just a week ago, Jen and I were enjoying this view from our room at the Bellagio in 90 plus degrees F!
This was taken in late afternoon but one early morning as we looked out at the pools, there were people already poolside. Reminds me of the time Alannah and I were in Hawaii and we were on the beach at 8:00 a.m.!
Here are some decadent delights from the Jean Philippe Patisserie at the Bellagio and Aria. Everything looked delicious and their muffins were to die for. We were there almost every day!
And this late night treat – it was sooo good!
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
I just love this set of Serene Silhouettes – there are so many possibilities with all the images in the set.
Haven’t used Marina Mist for a while so thought I’d make a 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ card using the circle image stamp from the set.
The Whisper White layer piece is 4″ x 4″ and embossed using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. The little doily was cut from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlets and provided a cute background circle for the stamped image.
After checking with the Color Coach for co-ordinating colors for Marina Mist, I used a blender pen to color in the leaves with Old Olive and Real Red on the butterfly. Tiny pearls in the leaves added a little extra to the image. It was finished with a length of 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon in Marina Mist around the centre and the image popped on the card with dimensionals.

Went for my appointment with my hairdresser the other day and look what I brought home!
Oh yum! Her DH had just returned from work and asked if I would like some blackberries and he went out next to the golf course and picked this big bowl of berries for us. We have been enjoying them the past couple of days.
Thanks for stopping by – have a wonderful Labour Day weekend – and happy stamping!
I’m soooo happy it is much cooler this week! It has been absolutely fabulous having temperatures in the low 20′s C. that I can actually get some stamping done. Had fun yesterday working on this card that I’ve been thinking of for some time and I also got a chance to organize all my embossing powders in containers from the Container Store.
Tempting Turquoise is the base card stock with the Basic Gray layer rolled through the Big Shot using the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder. The image from Serene Silhouettes was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Tempting Turquoise embossing powder on Basic Gray and layered onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock.
The bow is made with the new Basic Gray 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and secured with a Turquoise 3/8″ Brights Glimmer Brad. Don’t you love the little shape of the sentiment? The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases stamped on Tempting Turquoise with Basic Gray classic ink and punched out using of the darlingest punch from the Little Labels Punch Pack – so cute! It’s popped onto the card with a dimensional.

On page 179 of the Annual Catalogue, there’s a picture of a card made using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set and the new, fabulous, fantastic (enough adjectives? lol) Essential Paper-Piercing Pack. Here’s a case of the card.
I just love the softness of the card. I made a mask using the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents cutting it out from a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock. Place the mask on front of a Whisper White 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base. Using a sponge, pick up some Pool Party color from the stamp pad and sponge inside the frame. The image was colored with Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green markers, huffed and then stamped in the centre. Next place the Paper-Piercing mat with the apothecary outline over the sponged portion. You can either poke the holes outside the image or inside and on this card I chose to poke the holes inside the image. The card is finished with Pool Party Seam Binding.
