Red Stockings

The Cute Christmas set has so many adorable images, you can complete your Christmas mailing list with just this one set.

This is a CAS card using Whisper White and Real Red cardstock.

 
 

The stockings are stamped on a piece of Whisper White cut from the Clearlits Scallop Rectangle (p. 211, #118872,, $10.50)  with the Big Shot and colored with a Real Red marker.  Cut two more of the Clearlits with Real Red and layer them by overlapping behind the Whisper White one for a border on each side.

Tie a knot bow with the beautiful Red Satin ribbon and adhere it to the card with a Glue Dot.  The sentiment is punched out with the Medium Punch from the Holiday Mini (p. 25, #120908, $15.95) . It punches a 3/4" x 15/16" oval  The small scallop layered piece undeneath it was made by punching out a piece of Real Red cardstock with the Scallop Oval punch.  I fed the other end into the punch enough to form a frame for the sentiment.  Isn't it cute?

Watercolor Trio Says Goodbye

One of my favourite sets in the Summer Mini is Watercolor Trio and tomorrow is the last day that you can order this set. 

 

How its made:

1. Cut Poppy Parade cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4"
2. Cut Pear Pizzazz cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" and place in Square Lattice Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot and adhere to the Poppy Parade cardstock
3. Cut Whisper White cardstock 5 1/4" x 4 1/4" and place on Top Note die and run through the Big Shot
4. Color up the flower image with Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzaz markers and the larger leaf image is stamped with Pear Pizzaz
5. The sentiment is stamped with Poppy Parade
6. Cut a length of 1/2" Stitched Poppy Parade Poly Ribbon and wrap around the bottom of the Top Note piece
7. Cut slivers of Poppy Parade cardstock using the Tabletop Paper Cutter to make the "thread" for the buttons
8. Adhere buttons to the ribbon with Mini Glue Dots
9. Adhere the Top Note piece with Stampin' Dimensionals to the Pear Pizzazz cardstock
10. You're done!

A Bird Case

I feel a welcome back to myself is appropriate - LOL - its been a long time since my last post and I always have this guilt feeling when I'm unable to do one. 

My black tie dinner event is over and now its time to spend some time in the craft room.  This card was one of our club projects last month and is a case from Teresa Payne-Neal whose card was featured in the April Stampin' Success magazine.

Teresa's card had a greeting in the middle of the bird house and I substituted an opening with the Tag Punch and used Autumn Meadows DSP for the house.

Square Lattice

I absolutely love this new Square Lattice Impressions Folder featured in the Summer Mini.  Since the announcement of the Color Renovation, I've been using different cominbations of color that I have not previously used and I'm liking the combos.  This is another CAS card using Apricot Appeal and Gable Green with the flower from Bloomin' Beautiful (p.98, #111490, $34.95) and sentiment from Well Scripted from the Occasions Mini (p. 19, #117072, $26.95 WM, #118601, $19.95 CM).

Shoebox Swap

I hadn't been to one of Alison's downline meetings for a long while as there was always something that I was working on that conflicted with the dates.  But I did manage to make the one last night and met several new demos.

We worked on some great swaps and here are a couple of them.  This is one of Alison's swaps using Bashing Blue card stock run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder.  I love the combination of Apricot Appeal (leaving us soon!) and Bashful Blue.  We used the Greenhouse Garden stamp set that is currently on sale at a 20% discount for $27.96.  I love this set!

Here's another by Alison.  She used the new Square Lattice Impressions Folder coming out in the Summer Mini and will be available on April 1.  The images are from Awash with Flowers and sentiment from Embrace Life.  Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink is one of my favourite color combinations.

 

Garden Whimsey

Its been so busy for the past while with organizing chocolates for my customers for Easter and other events that I haven't been able to work on any projects to share with you.  My friend, Kathleen, is a life saver!  She came to help me with putting a little zipped pouch in my rag quilt bag that I had made a while ago and when I mentioned that I would like a little zippered enclosure in my bag to store my keys, a lipstick or any other small valuables, she offered to come give me a hand.  We spent the morning working on the pouch and it's exactly what I wanted!  I love the addition to the bag and I will have to post it at a later date.

In the meantime, I want to share her card with you.

She knows me well enough to provide all the details on making the card too.  The primary card stock is Melon Mambo.  On the card front she matted it with a piece of Sending Love Specialty DSP.  She stamped the butterfly from Garden Whimsey onto an oval piece of Whisper White using the Melon Mambo Marker and Basic Black markers.  She cut a larger oval Melon Mambo piece then trimmed the edges using the Fiskars Seagull pattern paper edges scissors. 

Can you guess how she added the tiny triangle dots for the background on the Whisper White?  She made them using the thin tip of the Melon Mambo Marker!  They are so perfectly made - it looks like they were stamped on.  What patience!

Kathleen's cousin, Claudia, who lives in California is a superb scrapbooker and offered the tip on using the Fiskars paper edges scissors.  She says to cut out your shape first - whether its an oval or circle - then carefully trim the edges with the scissors.

Shades of Spring

Another card from our recent SAS.  This card is a CASE of a card that Renee VanStralen made that appeared in the monthly demo magazine from Stampin' Up! (March issue). She used Tall Tales DSP for her card and for mine I used the gorgeous Shades of Spring DSP from the Occasions Mini with Orchid Opulence and So Saffron card stock.

A very CAS (clean and simple) card that only takes minutes to put together.  The designs and colors of the Shades of Spring DSP are so stunning and beautiful.  The image and sentiment is from Pocket Silhouettes.

Pizza Bear

I'm helping Jen out at a craft bazaar this weekend and thought I'd add some things to her display.  One of the items I'll be contributing is this little pizza box set with 3" x 3" note cards using the Beary Best Friends set.

The box is So Saffron and decorated with Ballet Blue card stock and Pawsitively Prints DSP.

This is the complete set.

Gotta get back to work on my other projects so just a short post today.

Sweet Pea

When there's a new accessory that comes out, its one of the first things I purchase and when the order arrives, I don't want to use it because its so pretty!  Yes, just another quirky trait.  So that's my reasoning for not using these lovely felts until now.

Before I share the project, I wanted to tell you about this WARNING.  Our order came in from last week's club and I think that I must have missed the warning on the shipment boxes before but because this box was so heavy, I had to lay it down for a while before opening it and that's when I noticed this.

LOL - So true!  There should also be another warning that hearing the UPS truck drive up also causes EXTREME excitement not only for me but for Bella.  Once the door bell chimes, we're both racing to the door to get the parcel.

This is the Sweet Pea card we made using Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink card stock.  The DSP mat is from Cottage Wall.   We used the Scallop Trim Punch (a SAB item) and the Scallop Trim Corner Punch to form the frame from a 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Certainly Celery card stock.

Sentiment is from the SAB set Whimsical Words and a band of pink satin ribbon and the felts completed the card.
