Did the title catch your interest? Brides are always polished! This is the polished stone technique that we revisited at a recent stamp club session. There are so many new stamping techniques that are fun to try yet sometimes its good to revisit some of the ones that I first learned when I started stamping.
Lately on tv there have been many images of black, yellow, and grey (National Geographic and other advertisements) Those were my inspiration points for color and coupled with the Bride DSP, this is what we made at our session.
For the polished stone piece, we used Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Yoyo Yellow reinkers. Squeeze a few drops of Silver reinker onto the Glossy White cardstock. Squeeze some of the reinkers onto cotton balls and dab onto the cardstock. Continue working with the cotton balls to achieve the look you want - each stamper's turned out differently and were all very beautiful. The image is from the Asian Artistry Level 2 hostess set (absolutely love this set!). We then brayered a piece of the Bride DSP (5 1/4" x 2") with Barely Banana ink and placed that piece on top of the black cardstock and added a piece of Barely Banana card stock (5 1/4" x 2") on the bottom.
The 5/8" Black grosgrain ribbon around the middle of the card with a faux bow topped it off with the sentiment from Short & Sweet stamped on Barely Banana card stock, punched with the Word Window punch layered onto a piece of black card stock punched with the Modern Label punch.
It's so cold in my office as I'm typing so I need to go down to my craft room where it's a lot cosier and play with my stamps.
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
