Although I've had the Stamp-a-ma-jig (SAMJ) for a long time, I don't very often use it but know that if I did, many of my images would be lined up much better! At our club session, we made this card using the SAMJ and lined up the flower on the card.
A square piece of plastic comes with the SAMJ on which to stamp your images for lining up - as I couldn't find mine (what else is new - too much stuff!), I cut up a piece of Vellum card stock into squares and stamped the various images onto the Vellum to use as my guide. Vellum card stock is sturdy enough that you can press it close to the corner of the SAMJ, stamp the image and keep those images in the stamp set for further use rather than cleaning off the plastic piece each time you want to use it. I stamped several images on each piece.
For this card we used Soft Suede card stock and Autumn Traditions DSP. Here's how we made it:
- Cut Soft Suede card stock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2" on 11" side
- Cut DSP 4" x 5 1/4" and cut that in half (2" x 2 5/8") and reverse the sides
- Apply a bit of scotch tape on the two pieces of DSP to secure while you place a piece of the Soft Suede grosgrain ribbon (4 3/4") around it. I used the plain side of the ribbon.
- Secure this piece to the front of your card with SNAIL
- Cut another piece of ribbon and using the polka dot side of the grosgrain, tie a faux bow on the strip of ribbon
- Cut a piece of Elegant Eggplant 2 1/4" x 4"
- Cut a piece of Whisper White 2" x 3 3/4"
- Using the SAMJ line up the flower image on your Whisper White card stock and stamp with More Mustard classic ink
- Line up the centre of the flower with the SAMJ on the stamped flower and stamp with Basic Black in
- Line up leaf to flower and stamp with Basic Black
- Stamp the sentiment from Great Friends stamp set using More Mustard ink on a scrap of Whisper White and punch out with Small Oval Punch
- Use the Designer Label punch to punch out a piece of Elegant Eggplant card stock
- Layer the Whisper White oval sentiment onto the Designer Label piece
- Place on card with dimensionals
