Sweet Treats and Luscious Lips

With Valentine's just a week away, we want to have lots of treats for your little sweeties and luscious lips for your big sweetie.  Just a few ideas to package Valentine treats to share with you today and a matching lip balm holder.

Sweet Treats

The Valentine hearts are packaged in our cello bags with a topper of Kiwi Kiss layered with Bella Rose DSP.  The word Yummy is coloured with Ruby Red Marker on Whisper White and punched out with the large over and layered onto Kiwi Kiss cardstock punched with the Wide Oval Punch.  Its wrapped up with Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon.

Valentine cello

The little box is from the Stampin' Up! patterns library on Kiwi Kiss cardstock.  I cut off about half of the lids and punched it with the new Eyelet Border Punch.  Punched holes in the corners and threaded crochet thread through the corners.  The sentiment is from Yummy SAB set inked in Riding Hood Red on Whisper White cardstock.  This was punched out with the Small Oval punch and layered onto a piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock punched with the Large Oval punch.  Foiled chocolate hearts fill the box.

The pillow box treat holder was cut using the Big Shot and pillow die on Riding Hood Red cardstock.  I also cut a piece of the Bella Rose DSP using the pillow die.  I punched out the opening with the Wide Oval Punch and placed the M&M's into a cello bag to pop into the box.  It's finished off with some Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon.

Pillow Candy (2)

Keep your lip balm handy in matching cardstock and DSP.  These are very quick and easy to put together and a super gift idea.  Cut your main cardstock 5 3/4" by 3 1/2".  Make two score lines to accommodate the size of your lip balm.  Fold up on the second scoreline and cut to the first fold line about 1/2" apart.

Yummies for the Tummy

I love the springy colours and fresh shades of the Rainbow Sherbet DSP and am so happy that it carried over to the Spring Summer catalogue.  With the sun shining this morning, but still cold, it adds to the brightness of the day and makes me wish that spring is just around the corner.  But according to Puxatawny Phil on Groundhog Day, we still have 4 to 6 weeks of winter!

Well these colours certainly bring sunshine into my days and I couldn't resist making this milk carton gift with some yummy treats, ideal for Valentine's or any occasion gift.  .

Sale-A-Bration

The time of year that we all look forward to with great anticipation to see what Stampin' Up! is offering for their Sale-A-Bration products.  So much to choose from with some changes to make your card creations even more spectacular!

In the brochure, not only do you see the featured SAB products but Stampin' Up! has also provided mini tutorials and features some of the regular product from the catalogue to create your projects – and you see how easy it is to get your SAB product.  For instance, on page 6 of the brochure it has the Top Note Bigz Die (page 196 in the catalogue, #113463, $25.95), the Crafters' Tool Kit (page 188 in the catalogue, #104310, $49.95) and the Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon (page 179 in the catalogue, #109066, $8.95).

The Crafters' Tool kit has so many goodies in it – the mat pack, paper piercier, paper-piercing pad, paper-piercing template, eyelet setter, bottle-nosed pliers with wire cutter, cross-lock tweezers, etc. but the best thing is the very smart looking case it comes in – leeping everything altogether.

For every $60 you spend, you can choose from any of the 6 SAB items  This year you can choose from  4 stamp sets, Congrats, Yummy, Polka Dot Punches, and Botanical Blooms and new this year you can choose Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper – 4 sheets each of double sided paper that co-ordinates with Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Sahara Sand or a Ribbon Bundle of 5/8" So Saffron Grosgrain and 5/8" Certainly Celery poly-twill ribbon.

My SAB card uses three of the free products – the Yummy Stamp Set, Delicate Dots DSP and Certainly Celery poly-twill ribbon.

Yummy Celery

I haven't used Certainly Celery for a long time and I remember that at one time all my cards were made of this colour – just couldn't get away from it.   I started with a base of Certainly Celery card stock, layered with Whisper White and then a piece of Delicate Dots DSP.  I cut a piece of Whisper White using the Top Note die with the Big Shot.  I stamped the image from Yummy in black at the bottom and stamped one the flower images from Pocket Silhouettes in Certainly Celery.

I punched two corners with the horizontal slot punch and threaded the Certainly Celery poly twill ribbon to complete the card.  The top note piece is placed on the layered pieces with dimensionals in four corners.

Sale-A-Bration is on from now to March 31 – don't miss out on getting some of these wonderful products.

For a limited time only, you will receive a FREE Spring Summer catalogue when you place an online order at www.dayanna.stampinup.net or you can contact me at dayanna@perfectevent.com to place your order or book a workshop and earn free SAB product.

Thanks for stopping by and have a yummy stamping day!

Black and White II

Another black and white card I made from the Pun Fun set.  When I made the first black and white sample for the SUDSOL challenge, I knew that I had to use this image as it fits the black and white theme so perfectly.  I hesitated on colouring him up in black because it would be so black – and yup! it was.  But thanks to the white gel pen, I was able to define his arms, his eye and a bit around his nose.

The glitter heart is from the Sticky Cuts Letters (page 180, #111109, $10.75).  They are so easy to use.  You remove the backing from the letter, apply it to your project and peel off the top then sprinkle Fine Cosmo red glitter (page 180, #108796, $16.50) over it.

Black & White Pun Fun

I cut a piece of black cardstock with my Big Shot using the Top Note die, placed it on top of the white cardstock, added the sticky heart and punched out the image with the 1 3/4" circle punch and placed that on the card with dimensionals.  The sentiment is punched with the word window punch and placed with dimensionals

Monochromatic Tones

One of the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is meeting so many wonderful people and sharing the same passion for paper crafting.  When I first started with SU about 4 or 5 years ago, there were only a handful of people I knew who were making cards and I didn't know anyone who scrapbooked!

I held some demonstrations at my workplace over a noon hour and I soon had the beginnings of a very dedicated group of co-workers who have become good friends as well as good customers!  I continued with noon hour demoes and the group has grown and we have shared some wonderful times together.  A few years ago we had a stamping retreat at the gorgeous Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria.  The resort was only open a year or so but we decided to spend a weekend there to do some stamping.

We had a very small group but we had so much fun!  We stepped out of our guest rooms onto a large deck that wrapped around the side of the resort on our floor and it overlooked the 18th green (with Kathleen giving pointers to those approaching the green).  I had booked a meeting room where we would do our crafts but with the smaller group we were able to set up some tables right outside our rooms and spent the day working on our projects.  It was absolutely gorgeous!  And here we are – Tanya, Wendy, moi, Kathleen and Ulla with Jen taking the picture.

Whistle while you work

One of my friends who has been a customer since I started stamping is Ulla Herlev.  She went on the retreat with us, has been to many of my classes and has made many beautiful gifts for her family and friends with her paper crafting.

She sent me this lovely card in monochromatic tones.

Ulla

She used Apricot Appeal as her card base, overlayed with Really Rust with an embossed image for a background.  She placed the Felt Flurries (Blog Candy she recently won) on punched squares raised on dimensionals and accented the centres with brads.

Hmmm, have to think about holding another stamping retreat this summer – are you interested?

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
