What a super day it's been - I've been in my craft room most of the day just stamping up a storm, and it is a bit stormy out there today too! So a perfect day for stamping. Let it rain! Who cares? LOL
I've made a few gift card holders but haven't had the opportunity to take pictures of them. Today I made one more and thought it was time that I get the camera out to snap a few shots and share them with you.
My October 20 post has another gift card holder and here are three more ways to make an attractive holder for those gc's. The first one is very quick and easy to make.
I used Old Olive for the holder and cut it to 8.5" x 3.5" and then scored at 4.25". I cut two pieces from the Ski Slope DSP at 4" x 3.25". I used the green side on the front and the reverse side for the pocket on the inside. Using the Alpine Ribbon Originals, I cut 14" of the ribbon to wrap on the outside of the holder. I fastened it around the outside with some SNAIL and then attached the front piece of DSP with SNAIL on top of the ribbon. The front of the holder is decorated with the tree from the Deer Friends Hostess Set. I coloured it with Summer Sun, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip markers and punched it out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and layered it onto a piece of Old Olive that was punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and then onto the Vanilla cardstock punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch. Using the piercer from the Crafter's Tool Kit, I punched holes in the scallops and then placed on the front of the holder on dimensionals.
For the inside pocket, I coloured the Merry Christmas stamp from the Season of Joy set (page 8, #110384, $31.95) with the markers. The Merry Christmas is in Real Red and I alternate the dots with Real Red and Old Olive - doesn't show too well in the photo. I punched it out with the Wide Oval Punch and then placed it on two of the Designer Label punches and affixed it to the DSP with dimensionals. I then used the 1" Circle Punch to cut out the slot and then used Sticky Strip to affix to the holder.
The next gift card holder is made with the Sizzix Scallop Circle die.
The Real Red cardstock is cut to 9" x 5" and then folded to measure 4.5" x 5". Place the folded portion of the cardstock just below one of the scallop edges leaving about 4 scallops at the top. I then ran it through the Big Shot and this creates the fold at the top. The front is decorated with a piece of the Holiday Treasures DSP which was cut with the Big Shot using the large scallop from the Scallop Circle #2 die. I then finished it with a large red felt flurry and medium blue felt flurry topped with a Build a Brad that was stamped with a red snowflake and a piece of Real Red grosgrain ribbon.
I was working on the inside of this holder at the class with Susan, Theresa and Kathleen. We discussed how to cut the DSP used for the pocket to hold the gift card and Kathleen suggested that it would look good with the stripes cut on a diagonal - and I agree - it looks great. Thanks, Kathleen. I decided to add another blue felt flurry on the top inside cover.
This last gift card holder was made to fit the Stampin' Up! gift certificates. Great idea for customers to purchase for their friends or family.
Using Baja Breeze, I cut the cardstock 9" x 8.5". Score along the 9" side at 4" and 8" leaving 1" to fold over. I covered this with Ski Slope DSP (don't you just love this designer paper?) that was cut to 9" x 8". Sticky Strip was used along three sides to seal it leaving one end open so that you can slide the gift certificate into the holder.
I decorated the holder using some Baja Breeze Striped Grosgrain ribbon and layered two pieces of the felt flurries. I thought it could use some bling so I dabbed the white felt flurry with Two Way Glue and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it and placed a Square Rhinestone Brad in the centre and attached to the ribbon with a pop up glue dot. On the tag, I used Happy Holidays from Many Merry Messages ( p. 139, #107121, $39.95) and the "To-From" stamp from Punch Pals (p. 37, #109489, $37.95 - part of the Bags & Tags Bundle - see Holiday Extravaganza post). These were stamped on Whisper White in Baja Breeze and the edges were sponged lightly with Baja Breeze. It was then layered onto a piece of Baja Breeze. The corners were punched using the Tag Corner Punch - also part of the Bags & Tags Bundle. It was then attached to the ribbon using Silver Cord.
The best gift certificate to give this season is a Stampin' Up! gift certificate. Please contact me at dayanna@perfectevent.com if you wish to purchase a gift certificate for the stamper or scrapbooker who is on your list.
There's still a lot more stamping to do so that's all for now.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

This gift enclosure is absolutely stunning! Love it!
