Hello Stampers!
Are you spending your long weekend like me stamping? It's a super day to play with my stamps as I haven't had a chance to put ink to cardstock for a few days and I was starting to feel the withdrawal pangs! LOL.
Wanted to do so many projects and did know where to start but after settling down in my studio, I thought I'd play with Inspired by Nature first. The first card uses the faux embossing technique. After making the card, I kept looking at it to get that "embossed" feeling and felt that I had to redo it. However, as I was working on my other cards, I kept glancing at it and the embossing seemed to become more pronounced and by the end of the morning, I decided that it truly looks like it has been embossed - actually probably talked myself into thinking that - lol.
This is a very easy technique with beautiful results. You stamp your image on your cardstock with White or Vanilla craft ink. Then stamp the image on the imaging sheet of the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. Position the imaging sheet over your stamped image on your cardstock then move it just slightly off your stamped cardstock, hold the SAMJ tightly squared againt the imaging sheet. Remove the sheet and stamp the image again with classic ink the same colour as your cardstock over the original stamped image. Isn't that simple?
Recipe:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: White Craft and Baja Breeze Classic
Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature
Accessories: SAMJ, Imaging Sheet, White Taffeta Ribbon, Black Brads
On my next card I decided to pull out some colours that I haven't used for a while but is always a nice combination. I also added the spotlighting technique to this card. I inked up the grass image in Old Olive and stamped it off to give it a softer shade in the background. I coloured the flower image with my markers. I used the Ticket Corner punch on the Bravo Burgundy layer and softened the Whisper White layer with some Burgundy ink by sponging it around the edges. I added the spolight accent on the smaller flower by stamping the image on a separate piece of Whisper White and then punching it out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and layered it on Burgundy punched out with the 1 3/8"circle punch.
Recipe:
Cardstock: So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White
Ink: So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy Markers
Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature
Accessories: Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Ticket Corner, 1 1/4" Circle and 1 3/8" Circle punches, Dimensionals
Need to add it to your Wish List? Page 100, #111656, $28.95.
Off to make more cards and will post again tomorrow.
Happy Stamping!

Thanks so much for showing me the Faux Embossing technique - I've never heard of it and it's fabulous. Love the Inspired by Nature card - I'm going to try it myself!
