Oh joy - it is a happy day as I had time to play with my new stuff. With all new stamp sets in the 2008 IDB being die cut, it hardly took any time to put them together and start stamping. The difficulty was to know which one to start with. One of the sets I got was Upsy Daisy and it is on sale until September 30. 15% off the regular price made it a good buy! You can see it here along with other sets that are discounted by 15%. Be sure to contact me at dayanna@perfectevent.com to purchase any of these sets and they can be shipped directly to you anywhere in Canada.
I also purchased the Urban Garden DSP which coordinates beautifully with this set and this is my first card.
I used Baja Breeze cardstock then layered a piece of Whisper White to that and then the Urban Garden DSP. Night of Navy is not generally a colour I use in many cards but another great addition to the catalogue are the tips on coordinating colours to use with the DSP. With Urban Garden it looks great. I stamped the image of the Daisies onto the Whisper White with the Baja Breeze ink and then again with Night of Navy. As I used the Scallop Edge Punch on the piece of Night of Navy, I decided to round all the corners of the layered image with the Corner Rounder Punch.
On the reverse side of the Urban Garden DSP that I used in the first card is this beautiful background piece that I just cut out and layered onto Baja Breeze and Night of Navy cardstock and added a sentiment placed in a Silver Hodge Podge oval. Finished it off with the brads from the Silver HP and put it on the card with some dimensionals.
The colours and patterns of the DSP in the new catalogue are all very exciting and I think I need to sample all of them! The other package of DSP that I wanted to try was Georgia Peach. I love the light colours in the sheets and the designs are fabulous.
Like the card above, this card required little stamping - only the sentiment and the rest is all cardstock and designer paper. I chose Old Olive for the base and layered it with Pretty in Pink and the same sheet of designer paper from Georgia Peach with both sides showing. I also got the new Wide Oval punch (I love all the new punches!) and punched out a piece of So Saffron cardstock and topped that off with a stamped image from Lovely Labels. This set is not in the current catalogue but it is still available as it is on the Dormant List. I added a piece of 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon to complete the card. I have used so much of this ribbon because it goes so well with many of the colour combinations that SU offers. Need to order more!
Thanks for stopping by to view these cards - and please leave a comment on what items you have on your Wish List!
Happy stamping!

Love the Upsy Daisy Card you did! Can't wait to order that set!
