Dreams du Jour

August 8, 2008

In my culture the number 8 signifies good luck and today being 08.08.08 it is a date that has been chosen by many couples to be married, have events that start at 8:00, etc.  We are also having our family reunion starting today as members of our family from across Canada and the US will meet for a weekend of fun and activities.

Each time I logon to the the web, the site I set up as my home page shows all these colours that look so familiar.  Then it came to me that they are the In Colours!  Its amazing as the pictures that flash up are in Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Riding Hood Red – honestly!  I think they must have had a sneak peek of SU!'s new colours – lol.

Playing with the Dreams du Jour set that will be in the new Fall – Winter IDB,  the colours on my home page inspired me to make the following card using Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss.  I also added Apricot Appeal, a colour that I often go to when creating a card and then somehow it gets filed back unused.  But in this instance, it seemed to be the right shade to go with this combination.

I also used the new Scallop Edge punch to form the two layers of scallops in Apricot and Kiwi cardstock.  The butterfly from the Dreams du Jour was coloured in with Blender Pens picking up the colours of the card and what butterfly doesn't have a little glitter on it?  Dabbed on a little two-way glue pen and dipped it in the glitter.  I finished the card using the Ticket Corner punch on the corners and added some brads using the Mat Pack as a guide for placing them on the scalloped trims.

Enjoy your weekend and happy stampin!
