July 15, 2008
Since a young child in school, I have never forgotten the saying about St Swithin's Day, July 15. The saying goes that whatever the weather is on July 15 - it will be the same for the next 40 days. If it was raining today, we would get 40 days of rain. But, today is a beautiful sunny day and that means we'll be getting 40 more beautiful days like this - fingers crossed! I'm certainly hoping so as I've got a couple of outdoor events that I'll be working on in the next 40 days!
On a beautiful day like this, I had to share with you the photo I took of our clematis at the front door. It has usually finished blooming by this time of year as its an earlier blooming one but because of the cool weather we were experiencing in April, May, it took a bit of time for it to blossom.
But I'm happy it's in full bloom and will enjoy it while it lasts. The ones we have in the back should be blooming just about now but they are delayed as no flowers have come out yet.
You can see Bella just in the lower left hand corner of this picture.
Couldn't resist taking a picture of Bella here at the base of the clematis - she tilted her head as I asked her if she wanted her "mum mums" - we had to go back in after this so I could get her dinner for her.
Enjoy this beautiful summer day!
Happy stamping!
