Hello Stampers!
Exciting news from Stampin' Up! with a sneak preview of one of the sets that will be featured in the upcoming Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalogue 2008. How would you like to own one of the new sets TWO MONTHS before the catalogue is released in August? Wow! I can hardly wait for the new catalogue to make its appearance with a set as lovely and versatile as Fresh Cuts, what other exciting sets and accessories are we in for?
From now to June 30, you have this unique opportunity to purchase two new products from the upcoming IBC. The Fresh Cut set is priced at $25.95 and the die cut Fresh Cut Note cards are available for $10.75. But if you purchase the stamp set, you can purchase the Note Cards for only $5.9 (total $39.30)! This promotion can be viewed here.
The stamp set has 5 images and they are die cut (hmmm, can we expect to have all the sets in the new IDB die cut?). I've only used two of the images to put together a few samples. The sentiments are ones that can be used for so many projects and I can envision using the little branch in an Asian panel type card - need to try that one out real soon!
This is the note card with the pieces of the flowers removed. The main image was stamped with Groovy Guava. The 5 Petal Flower Punch works beautifully with the set and I punched out a piece on Certainly Celery cardstock to place behind the die cut. The centre of the flower was finished off with a green Ice Circle Rhinestone brad. I cut a piece of Groovy Guava cardstock to place behind the image and finished off the card with some Guava Double Stitched Grosgrain.
The Note cards come 15 to a package with envelopes and are 4" x 4". Great to put with a gift!
With this card I decided to use the Spotlight technique. After stamping the main image on a piece of Whisper White with Black ink, I stamped the image again on another piece of WW. I punched out the portion of the image that I wanted to spotlight with the 1 1/4" Circle punch and used the Almost Amethyst and Mellow Moss markers to colour in the "mini" Riots of Petal flower.
This was layered over a piece of Black cardstock that was punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle punch. I then positioned the spotlighted portion over the main image. The WW cardstock was layered onto Black and Almost Amethyst cardstock. The ribbon is from the Jersey Ribbon Originals (I hope that SU will come out with more black and white ribbon and even some black and white DSP!).
On this card I used Black and River Rock cardstocks although the RR cardstock seems a bit washed out in the photo. Much better IRL (lol). I stamped the image using Black ink on River Rock and layered onto Black. The large River Rock layer was stamped with the Riot of Petals stamp in Versamark to give it a bit of texture. The two Oval punches were used for the sentiment that was attached with dimensionals and I topped off the card with a star punched first with the Star punch and then over punched with the Large Star punch. I used the edges of the dimensional package cut into small strips to attach the star to the card.
There are endless possibilities for this cute set used on regular size cardstock or on the Note cards. Contact me at dayanna@perfectevent.com to learn how you can earn the stamp set and the Note cards by hosting a workshop or purchase the stamp set and Note cards for $39.30.
Happy Stamping!
