Class cards

Hello Stampers,

Just got back after a brief walk with Bella, our 14 month old Shih-Tzu - she's still nervous about going out on the street so we only get as far as the entrance to the complex and she turns around and heads straight back pulling me all the way.  One day we'll make it out.

When I prepare for my classes I like to make cards that include some of the favourite colours of my customers.  At the Stamp Camp on the weekend, this card using red with the black and white was made with my friend, Ulla, in mind as red is one of  her favourite colours. 

Artfully Asian is one of my favourite sets and the red blossoms work well with the image.  Finally got a chance to use some of the pearls in the Pretties Kit that I've had for a long time but haven't had a chance to put it to use (shame on me!).  It's a nice simple card that can be used for different occasions.

Supplies:

Cardstock:  Black, White and Red

Ink:  Celery, Red and Banana Markers, Black

Accessories:  Ticket Corner Punch, Pretties Kit and discontinued narrow black organdy ribbon (still have lots of it!).

Amber and Wendy both like pink so I came up with this card using the Priceless set as the swirls in the set are so pretty and goes so well with the Soft Sky DSP.

It looks a lot prettier in real life - my camera settings weren't quite right in catching the softness of the swirl stamped in Soft Sky. 

Supplies:

Cardstock:  Soft Sky, Pretty in Pink, Soft Sky DSP, White

Ink:  Soft Sky, Pretty in Pink

Accessories:  Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, brad, paper piercer and dimensionals.

Amber E started with this card for her mom's Mother Day Card as those are the colours that suited her mom.   We used the vellum cardstock for the flower from the Embrace Life set and turned it over to colour it in with markers.  I hope her mom likes it.

Ink:  Lavender Lace, Almost Amethyst, Banana Markers, Black Staz-On

Loonies for Little Philanthropic Campaign

Hello Stampers,

Stampin' Up! is having a Loonies for Littles Philanthropic Campaign to benefit an excellent organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.   This campaign benefits the "Littles" (kids) and "Bigs" (adult volunteers) in the BBBSCA's In-School Mentoring programme.

Stamp Camp

Hello Stampers,

Can't believe how long it's been that I've had a chance to post.  With planning events and getting ready for a full day of stamp camp, it takes a lot of time!  Finished one event two weeks ago and then jumped right in to prepare for the Tart & Tangy class in the morning and then a Stamp Camp in the afternoon that was held this past weekend.  This involved prepping for a total of 15 cards - five in the morning, with two of each and 10 cards for the afternoon session.  What was I thinking when I planned two stamping events on one day?  But we had a great fun working on the projects.

We did a variety of cards in the afternoon and here is one for a Father's Day or a masculine card.  Lovely as a Tree is so versatile and particularly great for masculine cards. 

Supplies used:

Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip DSP, Old Olive, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Old Olive, Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip Markers

Accessories:  5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Small and Large Oval Punches, Photo Corner Punch, brads and dimensionals.

I'll be posting some of the other cards we made in the next few days.  But right now I'm struggling with my putting my watermark on the photos and have a ginormous headache from working on the programme.   I put out a plea for help to my family and Shelley answered my call for assistance.  However, it took my daughter, Jen, who was visiting from the US to help manipulate the first one and now that I'm trying to do it myself am totally baffled!  I think that I have so many photo programmes on my computer, it's confusing. 

It's a beautiful day with the sun shining but still cold so think I'll take a break from working on the computer and enjoy the warmth of the sun.
