Botanical Blooms Window Sheet Card

Gung Hei Fat Choy as we celebrate the Year of the Monkey!

Just a quick post today to share one of the cards we made at our window Sheet class yesterday.  We had a great time at the class and I absolutely love how this one turned out.  We used the Botanical Gardens bundle for the card.

Botanical Blooms Window Sheet sv

We used Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow card stock to create the flowers and leaves using the Botanical Builder Framelits.  We did a bit of sponging on the flowers and added Cajun Candy Dots to the centre of the flowers.

Bear Hugs Birthday

I have to admit that this stamp set is becoming one of my favourites.  I received the set at OnStage and it’s not the type of set that I generally purchase as I usually go for florals, but it’s so adorable and I’m finding quite versatile!

The card base is Crumb Cake with the first layer of Crush Curry and the DSP from the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.

Bear Hugs Birthday

When you open the card, it’s a pop up of mama bear and her two little baby bears.

Bear Hugs Birthday inside

Here’s another look at the bears as they pop up in the middle of the card.

Bear Hugs Birthday flat

The Crumb Cake card stock is cut 4 1/4″ x 5 5 3/4″ (times two). It’s scored 1/4″ on the short side on both pieces and folded on the score lines. Cut two of each bear and place a strip of Window Sheet between the two and adhere it to one of the folded 1/4″ piece – add the other two bears, staggering the height of them. Complete the card by adhering the other piece of Crumb Cake card stock to which you’ve added a strip of Tear and Tape.  I then cut two strips of the co-ordinating DSP and adhered them on both sides of the 1/4″ where the two pieces of Crumb Cake card stock are stuck together.

Honeycomb Happiness

Held my first class for 2016 this past weekend and I had to make a card using this sweet Honeycomb Happiness Sale-A-Bration stamp set.

Honeycomb Happiness front

The card base is Mint Macaron cut 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.  The first panel is Basic Black cut 3 3/4″ x 5″ layered with a panel of It’s My Party Designer Paper Stack cut 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″.  The focal images were stamped on Whisper White cut 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ and layered onto a piece of Basic Black measuring 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″.  The little chick was colored using a Blender pen and So Saffron classic ink.

The balloon is completed with one of the new Honeycomb Embellishments.  There are 12 embellishments, 4 each of Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and White. They are so cute!  The ribbon on the balloon is colored with Melon Mambo and the sentiment from Circle of Spring is also stamped with Melon Mambo.

Birthday Blooms

This is one of my favourite new stamp set – honestly, there are so many fabulous sets in the Occasions catalogue that I think I have too many favourites and not enough time to use with them all.

This was the make and take we made at my Open House on the weekend.

Birthday Blooms M&Trev

The card base is Watermelon Wonder with a Basic Black layer that had been run through the Big Shot using the Scallop Embossing Folder.  We added a length of the new Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon over the Black panel.  The large flower was stamped using Archival Black Ink on a piece of Whisper White and the corners punched using the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.  The sentiment is from the And Many More stamp set stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink.

We added a panel of Whisper White on the inside of the card and stamped the smaller flower in the corner.

Rose Wonder

I had to do a card in black and white, that being my favourite combination.  A simple card today using the Rose Wonder stamp set and co-ordinating thinlits.

Rose Wonder B&W

The Rose Garden thinlits has one with the rose and attached leaves which I cut in Whisper White.  Simply adhere it to a panel of Basic Black (4″ x 5 1/4″), stamp the sentiment using Whisper White Craft ink and heat emboss with White embossing powder.  A row of pearls completes the front of the card.  Adhere this piece to a Whisper White card base.

Party Wishes, Weekly Deals and Back Order Report

We made an element using the Party Wishes bundle at OnStage back in November and here is my completed card.

Party Wishes Onstage

The bundle comes with the Party Punch Pack along with the Party Wishes stamp set.  I love the little punch packs and this one is fabulous as it has the balloon, candle and cupcake punches.

Bear Hugs

I absolutely love the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Holiday catalogue.   It was retired when the Holiday catalogue expired earlier this month.  But, it was so popular that Stampin’ Up1 will be bringing it back!  So if you missed out from getting it, fear not, it will be back in the new catalogue that will be coming out in June!

I used the embossing folder to make this card with the Bear Hugs stamp set.

Bear Hugs

The card base is Early Espresso.  The focal image was created on a piece of 3 3/4″ x 5″ Very Vanilla card stock.  I sponged Marina Mist in the back ground of the embossing folder and also sponged Soft Suede on the trees.  The bears are stamped using Early Espresso right onto the embossing folder.  The Very Vanilla card stock was then placed onto the embossing folder and run through the Big Shot.  A bit of sponging with Early Espresso classic ink was added on the edges of the Very Vanilla piece and then layered onto a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake and adhered to the front of the card.

The sentiment is stamped with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and punched out with the small oval punch (retired) and then adhered to a 1″ Early Espresso circle and then popped onto the front of the card with a dimensional.

Plaid Hello

I used a technique for today’s card that I hadn’t used for a long while as well as bringing out the Crimper, also not used in a long while.  The set is the SAB Hello stamp set, one of the limited time products and only available until February 15, 2016.  I love CAS cards and had this in my mind for some time.  THIS is the first card I made using this technique.

Hello 2016 SAB Plaidsv
The card base is the heavy Whisper White card stock cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. I ran it through the Crimper and turned the handle about 5 turns. The image is inked up with Blushing Bride classic ink. I then used the edge of Watermelon Wonder ink pad and tapped it on an angle in intervals (about 1/4″) across the image.  Turn the image to the opposite angle and tap it with the with the edge of the Wild Wasabi ink pad.

The sentiment is stamped in Watermelon Wonder and the card is finished with punched Watermelon Wonder flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and topped with tiny Pearls.

Supplies:

  • Hello (SAB) stamp set, #141240 (Wood), #141243 (Clear) – available only until February 16
  • Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder and Wild Wasabi Classic Ink Pads
  • Watermelon Wonder Card Stock, #138323,  Heavy Whisper White Card Stock, #140272
  • Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, #133787
  • Pearl Basic Jewels, #119247

Botanicals for You

Don’t you just love how Stampin’ Up! provides SAB product co-ordinates with those in the Occasions catalogue?  The SAB stamp set, Botanicals for You pairs so beautifully with the Botanical gardens suite of products found in the Occasions catalogue.

For today’s card, I used the leaf framelit from the Botanical Builder Framelits to cut out the side of a piece of thick Whisper White.  The images are stamped with Calypso Coral, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive, all the colors in the Wildflower Fields Desgner Series Paper, another SAB freebie.  I cut a strip of the DSP to adhere on the inside of the card.
