Gift Bag Painted Petals FV

I used more of the soon departing Painted Blooms DSP to make the bag.  How do you like the shade of red of the scallop circle and flowers?  It’s the new beautiful Watermelon Wonder In Color.  It’s a really gorgeous shade of red   – slightly muted and absolutely beautiful!

Isn’t it cute?  I’ll be making more samples to share with you in the next while..

The beautiful Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper that was used in yesterday’s post and today’s gift bag is on this week’s deal! It will be gone after June 2 and this week’s deals ends on June 1. The co-ordinating stamp set, Painted Petals, has not made it into the new catalogue so if you’ve been meaning to purchase these two items and haven’t done so yet – now is the time to do it.

Rose Butterfly

I’m so happy that the Butterfly Thinlits will be available in the new catalogue along with Butterfly Basics.  I had cut several butterflies in preparation of a class several weeks ago and put them aside and had forgotten about them.  Today’s card uses a Rose Red butterfly cut from the middle size thinlit and a vellum butterfly cut from the smallest one.

Butterfly Lots of Thanks Rose Red

I recall when I first signed up with Stampin’ Up! about 10 years ago that one of my favourite colour was Rose Red, its still around and I’m still loving it!  I also recall that I made a lot of cards using this sketch in the horizontal layout.  I love how just changing the orientation from a horizontal to a portrait layout makes it so interesting – or maybe I just got tired of seeing it the other way – lol.

  • Stamps:  Another Thank You (photopolymer)
  • Paper:  Rose Red, Whisper White, Vellum, Painted Blooms DSP (from the Occasions Catalogue that ends next week)
  • Ink:  Rose Red
  • Accessories:  Butterflies Thinlits, Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder, Rose Red Seam Binding, Candy Dots, Small Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch

Counting down the days as we transition to the new catalogue – don’t miss out on your favourities if you haven’t got them yet as they will be gone after June 2.   Shop HERE AT MY ONLINE STORE 24/7.

Sprinkles of Life – Weekly Deals

Only two weeks away when the new 2015-2016 catalogue is launched.  I was so excited to receive my order last week and love all the stamp sets, paper, In Colors etc.  Couldn’t decide which set to use first but the Sprinkles of Life is such a delightful set I decided on that one.

Each year Stampin’ Up! features a special set where $3 from the sale of every one of this stamp set is donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  This year, the set is Sprinkles of Life and has 22 photopolymer images to create trees, cupcakes, flower baskets etc etc – just let your imagination go.  And a bonus to this set is a co-ordinating Tree Builder punch where your imagination can also take you into different directions.

I used a note card to make today’s card and chose the new In Colors Markers to color the flowers:  There’s Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder.  The only color not used in this card is Tip Top Taupe.

The designer paper background is from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  It’s a colorful paper stack featuring all the new In Colors and cut 6″ x 6″.

I added two of the Cucumber Crush Blossom Accents to complete the card.

Sprinkles of Life

Shannon’s Cards

I wanted to share with you some of the cards that Shannon, one of my team members, sent to me a while ago.  With all my technological problems the past few months, I have only now had a chance to be able to share them.

Isn’t this an adorable baby onesie?

Shannon - Babyrev

I love the Four Feathers stamp set – if you don’t have it and you would like to, you’ll need to get it before June 2 as it will be gone!

Another Fun Fold – Weekly Deals

A couple of years ago I made THIS CARD as I was thinking of coming up with a gatefold card combined with an easel card.  As it’s been two years (time flies!), it was time to make another.

Gatefold Easel Gold Soiree

A bad habit I have is buying the newest products from SU as soon as they come out and because I love them so much, I often do not use them – is that called hoarding?  LOL.  I finally broke out the Gold Soiree DSP (it’s retiring on June 2!) to use for this card along with the retiring Hello Darlling stamp set.

Here’s the inside view of the card.

Gatefold Easel Gold Soiree Open

We’ll be making this at my next class on SUNDAY, MAY 24 and if you live in the Lower Mainland area of Vancouver, BC and would like to join us for the class, please email me by May 19.

Strawberry Flower Shop – Weekly Deals

With the 2013 – 2015 In Colors departing next month, today’s card uses 3 of the retiring In Colors – my very favourite, Strawberry Slush, along with Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar.

While visiting Pinterest I saw a card using the markers to highlight the embossed images and this is what I came up with.  The flowers are from Flower Shop and Petite Petals and the sentiment is from the retiring stamp set, Four You.

Flower Shop Strawberry Marker

The co-ordinating ruffled ribbon in Pistachio Pudding retired last year.  If these departing In Colors and their matching accessories are on your wish list, be sure you get them before they’re gone.

Flower Patch Berry Basket – Weekly Deals

I was just about ready to go downtown this morning when our power went out – so not being able to open my garage door, I spent the time making this berry basket.

Berry Basket Flower Patch

I used Coaster Board for the basket.  It comes in a package of 8 and measures 6″ x 12″ and is sturdier than card stock making it ideal for making the basket .  After cutting out the box with the Berry Basket die, I stamped the stems from the Flower Patch stamp set in Wild Wasabi on all sides.  The flowers were stamped on scrap Coaster Board in Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush (retiring!) and Tangerine Tango.  They were cut out using the matching framelit from the Flower Fair Framelits (I love this bundle!) and attached to the basket with glue dots.

I popped in a fabric flower that I had into the basket and was very pleased with the result.   Wouldn’t you know it – the power came on just as I was finishing the basket!

Down Memory Lane with the Top Note Die

Going through the Retiring Lists I’m sad to see the Top Note die leaving us.  It was one of the first dies that was introduced along with the Big Shot and I thought I’d share some of the cards and projects I’ve made with it. One of my favourite 3D item was this “chest of drawers”. Top Note Vintage White Drawers OpenBlack & White Top Note Chest.

I loved making quilt cards with the die. Top Note Quilt
